Sony Vaio SONY SELLS VAIO DIVISION, RESTRUCTURES TV BUSINESS

Sony sold its PC business, operated under the VAIO brand, to Japanese investment fund Japan Industrial Partners , the company announced Thursday. Sony will also spin off its TV business, which has been operating at a loss for the past couple of years, into a separate, wholly owned subsidiary by July. Sony claims imaging, game and mobile are the three core businesses that will drive the company’s growth.
